Unexplained weight loss and hair loss can definitely be concerning changes that deserve medical attention, especially when they happen suddenly or dramatically. These symptoms can have many different causes, so it's really important to discuss what you're experiencing with your healthcare team as soon as possible - they can help figure out what might be causing these changes and work with you on the best next steps.

I am actually going tomorrow to cut my hair😔 it’s been rough because I love my hair. I’ve been dealing with it falling out every time I put my fingers through, but then I took a shower and it all knotted up like nothing I’ve ever experienced before and I can’t get it out😔 I was going to shave but my husband said to breath and try and see if I could get in and cut it first… so we shall see. Good luck my friend I’m sure you’ll be as beautiful as before❤️

I gained weight with chemo because of decadron steroids and could barely eat. Now that my chemo is complete except for Herceptin, I have lost 10 lbs. I could not tolerate the taste of Boost, Ensure, Premier, Muscle Milk, or Glucerna, so the oncology NP recommended Carnation Instant Drink that is mixed with milk. My weight is maintained. 21 days after starting chemo, my husband shaved all my hair off because my scalp was very tender and my hair became extremely tangled after washing. Once I had no hair, my scalp stopped hurting. It has been 7 months since chemo, and my hair has grown back, though short and fine texture. I was graying before chemo now I am silver in the front and salt and pepper in the back. I love my short hair and plan on keeping it this way. No fuss, just wash and go.

Yes Erica that happened to me. I met with the Nutritionist on my Team. I did cut all my hair off and I love it. I know this will sound crazy but speak with your doctor first of course and try to walk or exercise regularly and lightly perhaps using a Coach that specializes in Cancer Patient Care. I hope this helps.

I stopped relaxing my hair 15 years ago because I had golf highlights. Now no more color and embracing silver and gray hair.
