How can I stay positive and faithful during cancer treatment?

I believe things happen in our lives for a reason. When we go through trials and tribulations it’s for us and others to learn and grow from. I don’t believe things happen by chance. With this being said look for the purpose while trying to remain positive. Make this about you and your healing. Try not to focus on outside forces that don’t support healing and Our thoughts can be our worst enemy. I’m trying to be mindful of what I’m thinking and it can be challenging to stay in faith based positive mindset. Prayer, meditation, affirmation, journaling. Having real talk with God and opening myself to receive answers have been helpful. I start my treatment in a week and I have no idea how my body is going to respond. I can only hope that mentally I accept this chemo and view it as killing the cancer and not as an enemy. May God bless everyone on this journey 🙏🏾

Your faith-based approach to facing treatment shows incredible strength, and many people find that prayer, meditation, and journaling create a foundation for healing during challenging times. The mindset work around viewing treatment as medicine working for healing rather than against the body can be powerful - may your upcoming treatment be effective and your spirit remain strong throughout this journey.

I love what you said about trying not to focus on outside forces that don’t support my healing. While I’m trying hard to do this, I also need others to assist me in preventing those “outside forces” from invading my focus.

I totally understand this but I find that if we depend on others we tend to set ourselves up for disappointments. People are who they are and going through cancer will show you that. I’m going through something with a family member that I truly need right now and she is not being the support I need. I can be hurt and disappointed or I can forgive her (because there are times when I need to be forgiven) and rely on God and his process. I’m choosing the later and hope that things get better. God bless you on your journey and know that God is our supplier ❤️

I’m trying to stay focused on what I do have rather than what I don’t have. Not always easy when it comes to being diagnosed with cancer, but I’m trying 😊

Trying is what we can do, not trying you have already failed. I have come to an understanding that having cancer is each personal battles and for me to lean on self and trust my faith. This is not my wife’s battle nor my family’s battle but mine!! At the end of the day they have their own battles to overcome or to face. I just ask for understanding that they learn and understand my process. People show you who they are before going through any struggles or challenges. When something severe happens it exposes those who are not true. Example I have a small circle of true friends after my surgery my 2 friends both sent food to the house without asking what I needed. Now that’s friendship at first hand. On the other hand some people are afraid of what’s going on because they attach death to cancer automatically. The moral is we have to hold our own self down because no one can take better care of self than you. Be strong and stay positive! It’s all Gods will 🙏🏽🙌🏽💪🏽🫶🏽

Amen Angela. I am fighting B cell lymphoma in the GI tract and receiving chemotherapy. Every morning I wake up is more special to me ,rainy days, cloudy days and sunny days. I am just enjoying each day even when I feel crappy. Don't read too much into social media about your cancer because it affects everyone differently. Pray for your Dr and Oncologist that God will guide their treatment. Then trust and believe God will do his part. Don't expect family and friends to feel your situation, it is strange and new to them. If they can be emphatic it's a plus. This is our personal fight. Prayerfully and gracefully with gratitude always.
