21 days agoI'm currently dealing with several challenging symptoms including pain, nausea, depression, insomnia, and shortness of breath. My medication list includes Oxycodone and Norco (hydrocodone plus acetaminophen) for pain, Ondansetron for nausea, Furosemide for fluid buildup, plus Iron and Vitamin D3 supplements. Managing all these symptoms together feels overwhelming sometimes, and I know I need to stay in close contact with my oncology team about adjustments. I'd love to connect with others who have experienced similar multiple symptoms during their cancer journey and hear about your experiences. • How did you cope day-to-day when dealing with several symptoms at once? • What helped you communicate effectively with your care team about symptom management?

21 days agoManaging multiple symptoms at once can feel incredibly overwhelming, and reaching out to connect with others who understand this experience shows real strength. Many cancer patients find that keeping a symptom diary helps them communicate more clearly with their care team about what's working and what needs adjustment, while also identifying patterns that might help with daily planning. The community here has shared valuable insights about breaking down symptom management into smaller, manageable pieces and advocating for themselves during medical appointments - hopefully others will chime in with their own experiences and strategies that have helped them navigate similar challenges.

21 days agoNausea and constipation, plus diarrhea here. Nausea became easier to address after getting used to Opdivo and Cabometyx, plus an anti nausea medication when it's bad. I struggled to regulate my bowels, tending towards constipation, by drinking a little fruit juice each day and making sure I ate enough, three times a day. If either got bad, OTC meds in small doses worked.

21 days agoNot sure where you are in your journey. I completed 40 radiation sessions on April 21. Although I was told that the fatigue, nausea, bowel and bladder issues were on the way, I did not realize the severity. Many days I didn't think I could get out of bed, or some days wonder if I would make it to 2026. The cure seemed worse than the disease. There is light at the end of the tunnel and it's NOT a train. Sounds trite but be encouraged and be patient. Iron supplements definitely helped with fatigue. You will get through this. Im a living witness with no detectable signs of cancer today.
