Good morning, What is the best and the quickest way to rid the body of residual radiation after treatment and to help the skin return to its original color? Thank you and God bless.

Recovery from radiation therapy is a common concern, and it's completely understandable to want guidance on healing afterward. The best approach is to work closely with your oncology team, as they can provide personalized advice based on your specific treatment and skin type. Many patients find that following their doctor's recommended skincare routine, staying well-hydrated, eating nutrient-rich foods, and getting adequate rest can support the body's natural healing process - though recovery timelines vary for everyone.

Good Afternoon Lani, I've completed 28 days of radiation. During radiation and current, I am using Solarcaine for Sunburn Relief Cool Aloe burn relief forma and Aquaphor to keep my skin moist. Recently, I noticed that my skin is returning to its natural color.

Hi Agnes… thank you for your feedback. I wish I had known/ thought about using some of sun tan lotion during my radiation treatments! That probably would have prevented what I’m dealing with now! God bless you.

When I was going through radiation I was using aloe vera plant. It cools the hot area and it's very beneficial in all aspects

About 3 months after radiation I started using that black soap that lightens dark areas on your skin. I just had one area that was darker. No one but me and my doctor would notice. I may use some bleaching cream . Don't use anything but gentle stuff for a long time. My skin is in good shape even right after radiation. I use good fragrance free cream on my whole chest each day and massage my radiation side to keep it soft

I just finished radiation 3 days ago from 18 sessions and use lily of the desert 99% aloe vera gelly and aquaphor. Keeping it soft and moisturized I hear so that's what I'm trying.

I just finished radiation on Friday, I was told to apply aloe Vera at least three times a day, keep hydrated (64oz) minimum a day and high protein diet! I try to get in 70-90 grams per day. Stay on this routine for the next several weeks.

They will put a bra on you when you leave surgery, and they should give you something that tells you what bras you need. I didn't get until I asked at my follow up, but they said I should have gotten before I left after surgery.

I used Cerave cream two or three times a day throughout the month of radiation, then a couple times a day for the next few weeks. I didn’t have a ton of discoloration - my one breast (and area surrrounding) is a little tan. My bigger problem is fibrotic tissue due to radiation. I had mostly heard about taking care of the skin, which I did. But then a couple of months later realized my breast was rock hard and that I had lost a ton of mobility in that arm due to the shortening of the muscles…all from radiation. So now I am going to PT once a week, and having good results. Don’t know if it will be 100% normal again, but it is definitely working (mostly cupping to break up the fibrotic tissue). Just wish this had been on my radar…kind of took me by surprise

Hi, Good Day. Aloe, cocoa, or Shea butter. Natural product, not chemicalized product. I'm learning to minimize the use of many products. It's so important to keep clean.
