3 months agoHello everyone my name is Sonja and I am scheduled for a lumpectomy on Sept 5th. My surgeon has recommended radiation, but she also said the final decision won’t be made until they evaluate the tissue they remove on the 5th. I am at stage 0. I’m more concerned about radiation than I am about the surgery for some reason. At this point I still don’t have an oncologist. I’m in central Jersey if anyone has a recommendation.

Lumpectomy for stage 0 breast cancer typically has excellent outcomes, and many people find the procedure more straightforward than they initially expected. It's completely natural to have concerns about radiation therapy - this is a common feeling, and discussing all your questions with an oncologist will help you understand the specific benefits and considerations for your situation. The community here has valuable experience to share, and connecting with others who have been through similar treatments can provide helpful insights as you move forward with your care.

2 months agoHello, My name is Donna from PA. I also had a lumpectomy (double) in my left breast for stage 1 and stage 0. I finished 20 rounds of radiation on Sept. 10th. I was able to work 6hrs. a day and then leave for treatments. If you decide, be sure you get lots of creams to keep the area lathered. A wonderful skin care I used is called BeeCure. You can purchase it on Amazon. I am experiencing fatigue but I make sure I rest when I can. Good luck to you!
