Quitting smoking after a cancer diagnosis is one of the most impactful steps you can take for your health and treatment outcomes. Consider reaching out to your healthcare team about smoking cessation programs, nicotine replacement options, or prescription medications that can help manage cravings - many cancer centers have specialized support for patients in exactly this situation. You're taking an important step by recognizing the need to quit, and there are proven resources available to support you through this challenging but worthwhile journey.

Ask your doctor to recommend a smoking cessation program where there is a community of people also seeking the same thing. For anything of significance that I’ve been able to accomplish, asking for help and being surrounded by others always allowed me to achieve more. I’ve been alcohol free now for 4 years as a result of joining a 12 step program.
