Hello everyone, I’m in my first year of survivorship, I’m so excited about finding this group because it’s different this time around I feel numb, disengaged I’m also grieving the lost of my husband who passed 2 months ago with cancer.

Finding this community during such a challenging time shows incredible strength, and facing both survivorship and grief simultaneously is an immense emotional burden that deserves recognition and support. The feelings of numbness and disengagement are common responses to processing multiple major life changes, and this community understands the unique intersection of celebrating survival while mourning profound loss.

I am so sorry for your loss. Take it slow, don’t let anyone tell you how you should feel. It takes time and no matter what anyone says two months, two years and longer you need to listen to yourself.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your husband. Please be kind to yourself. Do any churches near you have a grief group. I'm so happy your first mammogram is normal. Having cancer and such a loss close together is hard. Make sure you do something to celebrate your normal mammogram.

It is import that you try to get as close to normal as possible. Get out of the house to walk or visit friends. I have suggested to others to participate with a cancer organization like Living Beyond Breast Cancer. LBBC has conferences that you can attend. You can learn a lot about cancer and meet a ton of cancer survivors and thrivers. This will help you not feel alone in your journey. Look for local support groups as well. Google and find…. It takes a village to raise a cancer patient 😇
