a year agoGood morning, I’ve had two surgeries back to back since my diagnosis. I still have a hematoma left from my last surgery which was Feb. 13 of this year. A month after I was still in a lot of pain andI was very swollen. My surgeon ended up draining 177cc’s of fluid and the hematoma was found underneath. I talked to my surgeon about it this past August and he doesn’t seem concerned unless it gets bigger. I just don’t want it turning into something later. Are any of you experiencing this?

Persistent hematomas after surgery can understandably cause concern, and it sounds like your surgeon is monitoring it appropriately by checking for changes in size. Many patients do experience prolonged healing complications, and having ongoing communication with your medical team about any changes or concerns is always the right approach. Hopefully others in the community can share their experiences with post-surgical complications to help you feel less alone in this journey.

6 months agoMy sister has a bruise on one of her breasts. Her surgeon told her it will probably not go away. It's been over a year since her surgery.

6 months agoOmg I had hematoma a big one after lumpectomy very near underarm. I am in blood thinner that exacerbated it. Doctor had to do another surgery to fix it after 4 days if excruciating pain since the surgeon was out of town and no other physician would touch it. It got much better after the second surgery but I had lymphedema ie pain in arm and chest. I got much relief after Physical therapy sessions. Wearing a support bra and arm sleeve halos with pain.

6 months agoIt bothers me because I have absolutely no feeling in the area where it’s located. He wanted to do surgery right after the service surgery to remove it but at that point I’d had enough. He doesn’t want me taking blood thinners so I guess I’m stuck with it

6 months agoI agree because I’m going through the same thing, my doctor did say I would have to take Anastrozole for five years.

6 months agoSame. End of March next year will be 1 year on Anastrozole. I haven’t been nauseous for awhile but I’m still taking Zofran. I’m afraid I’ll go back to feeling ill if I stop taking it. I’m praying things get better for you

6 months agoI can’t understand how aromatase inhibitors were ever passed as a viable treatment, chemical castration and it’s horrific side effects and long term risks are just not worth taking it. I couldn’t tolerate it. I am looking into progesterone therapy as a possible solution to oppose the estrogen.
