a year agoHello, everyone. I'm Drusilla W-H, and this is my fourth diagnosis with breast cancer. It has been 22 years, and I'm still enjoying my life. I'm 63 years old with stage IV metastatic breast cancer. It has spread twice in four years. Stay posituve.. it helps.

6 months agoMy goodness 4th diagnosis?? You are a Trooper. You had to do chemo all those different times?
Community Member
6 months agoThank you.. No, I had radiation the first time, chemo second, then 15 years cancer free. In 2020, I had radiation to reduce the size of the tumor on the armpit before surgery. Then, in June 2024, to present chemo every three weeks. She told me yesterday that everything looks good, so she will continue the chemo a little longer. One day at a time.βΊοΈ

6 months agoThis is a general update... not in response to a specific question... 4 months ago, after a year on 2 different AIs and crippling, disabling joint, muscle pain... and a history of blood clots, thus Tamoxifen wasn't an option, I stopped all the meds and got my quality of life back... but I asked myself, what can I do in addition to lifestyle and diet changes if I am not on medications? The only thing left was to stop all alcoholic beverages ( based on latest warnings from former surgeon general)... That felt like a reasonable decision in view of the toxicity of alcohol when metabolized ...I don't know why/how I got breast cancer at age 78, but I did... I would love a longer life but I won't exchange quality of life for possible percentage increase in a few years... but I am also staying on top of all the latest developments in treatment, hoping that there will be better treatments with fewer side effects down the road- power and blessings to all of us challenged by this disease...
