23 days agoHello: I was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer(peritoneal) in January’23. I had 3 rounds of chemo and then a total hysterectomy with debunking. I went through 3 more rounds of chemo and then about 1 1/2 years of remission with immunotherapy ( Avastin). I could no longer take it because it affected my kidneys. My cancer came back in the lining around my rt. lung. I was given a half dose of Taxol. It seemed to work pretty good. I decided to try a targeted treatment drug called Lynparza. Have any of you taking this had breathing problems? I’ll explain later.

23 days agoHi!! I have been taking Lynparza for about 5 mos. I’m not sure if it’s working or not because my Ca125 has gone up to 529 from 35 from Dec. I’m getting a Pet scan on Friday. 🙏🙏 I have stage 3c HGSOC. I had about 6 mos of remission. Good luck to you. I hope it works for you. It doesn’t bother my breathing.

23 days agoI’ve been taking for about 6 mos. My scans since then have been good but my CA125 has gone from 30 to 138. I have a CT scan on Tuesday. Hope your Pet scan is good and thanks for your response.

23 days agoThank you for sharing your experience with the community. Many people taking Lynparza do report respiratory symptoms as a possible side effect, so your concern is completely valid and worth discussing with your care team. It's encouraging to see how you've navigated different treatment options throughout your journey. Sharing your question here can help others who might be experiencing similar effects feel less alone and encourage important conversations with their doctors about managing side effects.

19 days agoKaren, well my Pet scan showed a recurrence. I meet with my Dr. on Tuesday. I believe he’s putting me on Elahere and Avastin. Hopefully my kidneys will be ok. If nothing shows up on your CT and your tumor markers go up again, ask for a Pet scan. They can pick up cancer cells earlier than CT scan. I had a CT scan in Feb, it was clear, then numbers went up in March and I had the Pet scan. I hope yours goes better than mine 🙏🙏

18 days agoKathy, I’m sorry you have a reoccurrence. Hopefully this new med will work for you with minimal side effects. Thanks for giving me a heads up on the scan. I’ve had Pet scans in the past.
