Dealing with treatment delays due to high protein levels can be incredibly stressful, and it's understandable to want answers during this challenging time. While managing protein levels typically requires guidance from the medical team who knows the specific treatment plan and health history, this is definitely something worth discussing in detail with the oncologist or care team. Many community members have faced similar treatment interruptions and may have insights to share about their experiences working with their doctors on these issues.

5 months agoHey Telecia, I'm not a physician so I can't answer your question. I'm very sorry to hear that your daughter has brain cancer. I lost my wife to lung cancer in 2003. For me, it was extremely difficult to watch her struggle and not be able to do anything to help. I now have the same kind of lung cancer that she had but now there are new treatments available and I'm currently in remission. Now I struggle with guilt that I am receiving effective treatment and it wasn't available for her. I sincerely hope that you will be able to find an effective treatment regimen for your daughter. If you can get into a mental health counseling program, it could be helpful for you. It has been very helpful for me. I wish you and your daughter well.

5 months agoHi Telecia, I'm so sorry to hear that. Has the doctor given you any ideas on what to do about that? I think you can reduce protein intake and up her carbs and healthy fats to balance it out. Im no doctor or dietician, I just usually do my research. Also, I do plant based meats and protein. It may help. Ask her physician to refer her to a dietician for help. Best of luck. Will keep you both in my prayers 🙏

5 months agoAlso, Garey is correct when saying mental health counseling helps. Don't hesitate to reach out to someone if you and your daughter need to speak to a third party about what you are going through. She may find it very helpful and so will you.
