What does recurrent high-grade bladder cancer treatment involve?

My bladder cancer that was treated in 2024 has returned and is high grade urothelial carcinoma which infiltrates into muscularis propria. Does BCG work after a small tumor returns?

Hi, I have just finished my first 6 weeks of BCG for high grade NMIBC and had my first follow up cystoscopy! Unfortunately there was a 2-3 millimeter tumor present! My doctor says this is a sign that my BCG may be a failure! She said we could try a second round to make sure it absolutely isn’t working because my body may need a bit more to kick start it! Has anyone out there had this happen and had a second 6 dose treatment that worked?? I am being offered trials but am not interested in those unless I exhaust all proven options first!!!

Can I handle another surgery so soon after heart surgery?

I’m going in for my 2nd Turbt, this is just 8 weeks from major heart surgery I had. This 2nd tumor, small Dr says), was found over 2 months ago. Now…. What will he find during the Turbt surgery will be, interesting to say the least. All these surgeries I’ve had this year are weighing my down heavily!!
