9 months agoI also never got a oncotype score. Is there any place I can look up percentage for recurrence
Accepted Answer
An oncotype score is a genetic test that analyzes tumor tissue to help predict the likelihood of breast cancer recurrence and whether chemotherapy might be beneficial. While not everyone receives this test, there are other tools and resources available to help understand recurrence risk, including online calculators and risk assessment tools that oncologists use. It would be worth discussing with your medical team about what risk assessment methods might be appropriate for your specific situation, as they can provide the most accurate information based on your individual diagnosis and treatment history.

9 months agoYour oncologist is the one who orders the oncotype and should be the one explaining to you your results. Ask for a copy of your results and go to the oncotype website. You will be able to get all the information you need based on your results. You can even plug your results and you can see samples of results based on age and score. Please, be proactive!!! If you have a test done, ask, ask, ask!!!!!

9 months agoI don’t think everybody gets the Onco type it’s done to decide whether or not you need chemotherapy or not but if you have her 2 positive, I believe you have to have chemo so maybe they didn’t do the Onco score because of that

9 months agoI did not get one either. Maybe it depends on the type of breast cancer, genetics and size?
