Starting a new medication can bring unexpected challenges, and adjusting to side effects takes time for the body. Many people in this community have shared similar experiences with treatment adjustments and found it helpful to connect with others who understand what this journey feels like.

That’s what I will be taking - it’s causing pain too?

Apparently the withdrawal of any trace of estrogen makes the nerve endings in the breast you have surgery on go into overdrive It’s actually listed as one of the side effects.

Letrozole is what I was taking. It caused me to have joint pain, hot flashes( and I haven't had any for a long time), nauseous all the time, and exhausted to tears. I was on it for 3 months and couldn't stand it any longer! I went to my oncologist and said that if this was how my quality of life was going to be, I'm stopping treatment! So, he took me off of it for 3 weeks, then put me on Anastrozole. I feel better! I actually feel like doing things again! No hot flashes, nausea, or fatigue! A little joint pain but it's manageable. I hope this helps and you get resolution soon! Prayers and hugs for you!

Been on Letrozole for a year and a half and joint pain is bad. I still make myself gently stretch and walk when I can. If I am having an unbearable day I shorten everything up but still keep moving cause not moving really does make it all stiffer. Ask your care team about a different one if it gets to be too much. They all have side effects and we all handle them differently.
