How to manage severe fatigue 3 years after cancer treatment?

I’m struggling with immense fatigue, debilitating at times, 3 years now since treatment. Anything I do, makes it worse… going to more appointments, walking… I need to rest after everything. Sometimes doing too much, which really isn’t much, causes a full week or two, or more, of complete fatigue. All bloodwork is good. Any suggestions on what to do or who to see?

Post-treatment fatigue can be incredibly challenging and frustrating, especially when it persists years after completing cancer treatment. Consider discussing this with your oncologist or primary care doctor about a referral to a specialist who focuses on cancer-related fatigue - some cancer centers have survivorship clinics or rehabilitation programs specifically designed to help with these ongoing effects. Many others in the community have found that working with specialists familiar with post-cancer fatigue can provide targeted strategies and support that make a real difference in managing energy levels.

Hi Virginia, I had intense fatigue for no reason really. Meaning, I didn't do much, and I was just so fatigued. My personal experience was this... one day I was going about my semi-normal day and it clicked that I didn't feel that awful fatigue. For me, it took about 2.5 years or so. Everyone is different. I tried everything from vitamins, a better sleep schedule, extra rest, lots of water and I couldn't shake it. The ONE thing that helped me was when I asked for a hydration IV at the hospital, as often as I could. That made such a huge difference, but only for a few days or so. It may just randomly go away. But I sure know how aggravating it is. Best to you.

Hi Nil I also found that an Hydration IV really helped me too after my Enhertu Chemo treatments every 3 weeks as I have 5 days of complete fatigue, dizziness and really low Blood Pressure but the Hydration only lasted a day and a half. By any chance have you tried Liquid IV at Costco to see if it helped?

Hi ladies, haven't been on here for a bit. Cheryl, I do drink the liquid IV and other hydrating drinks. But they don't help like the IV I get from the hospital. You do stay hydrated though.

Hi Nil Yep I drink 62 ozs or of water a day but I’m still fatigued and dizzy like Virginia it is a crazy life that we are trying to make sense of. I keep praying that I can find a new normal.
