Are there any natural alternatives to Tamoxifen? I have had Chemotherapy, radiation and am still doing immunotherapy every 3 weeks until March. I have the beginning of osteoporosis (maybe due to the chemotherapy?). Anyway, I am scared of the side effects of Tamoxifen and am wondering if anyone has had good luck with alternative treatments . They want me to take it for 10 years!

Many people in this community share concerns about treatment side effects and explore all their options. While there's ongoing research into natural compounds and their potential benefits, it's important to have an open conversation with your oncology team about your specific concerns, including the bone health issues you're experiencing. Your medical team can help weigh the benefits and risks of different approaches based on your individual situation and may have suggestions for managing side effects that could make treatment more tolerable.

Won’t touch that medicine that big pharma pushes. Seek alternative options. Save your bone health and bone metastasis.

I have no issues with tamoxifen and there are zero alternatives. Please do your own research at reputable sites like NCCN. Tamoxifen actually strengthens your bones it’s the AI’s that cause osteoporosis. Big pharma pushes nothing frankly they don’t care if you take it or not, it’s there as an option. The outcome of taking nothing is obvious. Try it out if the side effects are difficult they can be managed. Conspiracy theories will get you nowhere. Good luck

I read in a Reddit thread from a few women that it takes about six months to overcome or be able to comfortably live with the symptoms, so I asked my oncologist if I could step up my doses little by little. I started with 5mg for the first month and increased by 5mg each month until I got to 20mg. With each increase I felt the side effects most around the 13-15 day mark, which for me were joint pain and mentally feeling down. I’m now on month 2 of 20mg. The biggest thing I’ve noticed is my last period was longer in length in between and real painful. My hope is that in another few months it’ll all just feel normal again. Tamoxifen is a marathon, not a sprint. Give your body and mind time to adjust.
