Seeking advice on breast cancer treatment decisions

I was diagnosed on 12/4/24. At the time the Drs said it had not spread to any lymph nodes. My cancer was a grade one 1 cm HER2-, HR +. On 2/5/25 I did a nipple sparring double mastectomy (with reconstruction) to hopefully avoid radiation. The 1 sentinel lymph node they took was positive with extranodal extension of 3mm. Did radiation. They did the higher dose/shorter time on me which I was very happy with. I am 59 and I do not want to go on an aromatase inhibitor. Onco score was 17. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Making treatment decisions can feel overwhelming, especially when weighing the benefits and risks of different options. Many people in this community have faced similar decisions about hormone therapy and understand the complexity of balancing treatment recommendations with quality of life concerns. Consider discussing your specific situation thoroughly with your oncologist, including your concerns about aromatase inhibitors, so you can make the most informed decision for your unique circumstances.
