Hi all. My shingles are scabbed but I still have soreness and the occasional stab or itch. My left shoulder and upper arm has gotten stiff. I’m wondering if it’s a side effect of the shingles or my old cusp tear injury is surfacing or it could be just more arthritis.. I wake up stiff but after doing a few stretches it gets better. Is this the old grey mare, getting older? Dunno but I haven’t gone back to the hym. Took a walk yesterday which felt good. My daughter has fybromyalgia and says I’m a wimp. I just want to know if I’m ok? All my blood work came back normal and I didn’t need an ear lavage.😇

It sounds like you're dealing with multiple uncomfortable symptoms during your recovery, and it's completely understandable to wonder about the connection between your shingles and shoulder stiffness. While shingles can sometimes cause nerve-related pain and stiffness in surrounding areas, shoulder issues can also stem from many other causes like previous injuries or arthritis, as you mentioned. Since your bloodwork came back normal, that's encouraging news, but it would be worth discussing these new symptoms with your healthcare provider to get proper guidance on what might be causing the stiffness and the best approach for managing it.

Which side did you have lymph nodes removed? Loss of grip and range of motion are actually the first signs of lymphedema. Visible swelling usually doesn't happen until it's more advanced.
