Sleep troubles and fear are so common in the cancer community, and reaching out shows real strength during a difficult night. Many others here have experienced similar feelings and may be able to offer comfort or share what has helped them get through tough moments like these.

I was watching on YouTube that if the doctor orders a pet and bone scan that means its stage 4 do you know of that's true

I think not necessarily. They can just be trying to make sure there’s no cancer there

I did not. My diagnosis is DCIS, and it was a surprise. I went into surgery thinking they were taking out some tissue with calcifications and some atypical cells. That was all my biopsy showed. Then days later, the path report showed DCIS, a very early stage of cancer. I absolutely panicked. Then i went through radiation and am still taking aromatase inhibitors. I did not have those scans because all my docs say DCIS does not spread. It can become invasive though if not treated. I’ve had one mammogram since that was negative but i had a bump in my armpit that i insisted they ultrasound. They said it was a benign cyst and it went away. I have a good prognosis but i still have some dark times when i get lost in “what ifs.” I force my self to concentrate no further than on the next step. Try and do that. I know it’s hard. Still praying for you.
