What should I expect during radiation treatment after a lumpectomy?

Just had my Lumpectomy and a few lymph nodes removed yesterday. The surgeon is confident he got all the cancer, but still waiting for lab results. I will begin radiation in a few weeks. Is there anything I should prepare myself for during the process?

Radiation treatment typically involves daily sessions for several weeks, and while many people manage it well, it's helpful to know that skin irritation and fatigue are common side effects that usually improve after treatment ends. Consider asking your radiation team about skin care products they recommend and planning for extra rest during treatment, as connecting with others here who've been through similar experiences can provide valuable insights and encouragement.
