Hi, Recently finished 4 rounds of chemo. It went well, except for hair loss. Just got a new mammo & a marker to prepare for upcoming surgery. Supposed to be lumpectomy in November. Told this week, tumor actually has increased in size ! Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what came next.

Finishing chemo and then hearing that a tumor grew can be confusing and upsetting, and it makes sense to look for others who have been through something similar. Many people with breast cancer have questions about how tumors respond to chemotherapy, and the reasons can differ from person to person, so the care team is the best source for what this result means and what steps may come next. Writing down questions before the next appointment, such as why the change happened and how it may affect the surgery plan, can help. Others in this breast cancer community are welcome to share their own experiences with tumor changes after chemo, and this post is a good place to reach out for support.
