a month agoAnyone familiar with Birads5 terminology and HemOnc & RadOnc and share what that means?
Accepted Answer
BI-RADS 5 indicates a finding that is highly suggestive of malignancy, with a greater than 95% likelihood of cancer, and typically requires tissue sampling for confirmation. This classification system helps doctors communicate imaging results clearly and determine the next steps in care - hopefully some community members with experience navigating similar situations can share their insights and support.

a month agoBirad 5 means the mass detected is suspicious and most likely malignant. Hem onc is shorthand for hematology oncologist who will be your best medical friend throughout your journey ( at least mine has been). Rad onc is the radiation oncologist who works as part of your team and delivers your radiation treatment. Hope that helps.
