I think all of us fighting cancer need to be fighting insurance companies to force them to cover alternative treatments and that our so called medical professionals should be paying more attention to alternative treatments for cancers.

The frustration with insurance coverage gaps is something many cancer patients face when exploring their care options. While navigating these challenges can feel overwhelming, connecting with others who share similar experiences often provides valuable insights and emotional support. Consider reaching out to patient advocacy groups or social workers at cancer centers who can help guide you through insurance processes and provide information about accessing different types of care that align with evidence-based treatment approaches.

Agree 100%. Need to treat the whole person/whole body - not just the cancer. Unfortunately the medical industry is financially linked to big drug companies. Very difficult for them to look at an alternative treatment. I am with Kaiser and feel fortunate they have been at least willing to cover acupuncture treatments for joint pain associated with Anastrozole. Also have a gynecologist who works with the oncologists to address the vaginal dryness issues associated with hormone blockers. See some light at the end of the tunnel.

Ive been surprisingly impressed with how well my insurance has handled everything. Only a few coverage issues. Blue Cross.
