10 months agoAnyone taking Anastrozole experiencing constipation?
Accepted Answer
Constipation can indeed be a side effect that some people experience while taking anastrozole, as hormonal changes from the medication can affect digestive function. Many others in this community have shared similar experiences, so discussing strategies with your healthcare team about managing this side effect could be helpful - they might suggest dietary changes, increased water intake, or other approaches that work best for your situation.

6 months agoNo constipation but terrible, horrible joint and muscle pain. My oncologist told me when it gets unbearable to go off of it for a couple weeks then restart. It helps a lot.

6 months agoI did have constipation in the beginning, but it subsided after 3 months. My dry mouth and hot flashes also got better within 6 months. I would much rather have those side effects than cancer!

6 months agoThe AIs can dry out everything in your body. Drink lots of water, eye drops, maybe a humidifier, good skin moisturizer. Miralax is good, maybe a magnesium supplement if you can take that. Stool softners...can be helpful but you have to drink enough water to make them work. Also make sure you get healthy oil in your diet. I just add olive oil to some foods because I don't like meat very much. It's a seems like a full time job combating these symptoms, but as you add the things you need each day it becomes routine .

6 months agoI talked to my oncologist. She suggested taking Miralax for 3 days before treatment and then 3 more days. I also eat whole milk yogurt with probiotics daily. Huge difference.
