3 months agoI’m on tamoxifen and started to have hot flashes. My oncologist is having me take oxybutyn. It’s used for bladder control. Anyone on this??
Accepted Answer
Managing hot flashes during tamoxifen treatment can be challenging, and there are several medication options that oncologists may prescribe for this side effect. While this particular medication is commonly known for bladder issues, some doctors do prescribe it off-label for hot flashes in certain situations. It would be helpful to hear from others in the community who might have experience with different approaches to managing tamoxifen-related hot flashes.

3 months agoHi! I’m not on this medicine but do suffer from hot flashes on an aromatase inhibitor. Have you started it yet? Is it helping? 💛 Suzanne (Community Moderator)

2 months agoIf you are 60+ years old, you might want to ask your medical team about alternatives with less of an anticholinergic side effect profile. There are 2: mirabegron and vibegron. The anticholinergic side effects can have troubling cognitive side effects in older adults (I’m a cognitive neurologist with breast cancer).

2 months agoYes, it does help some, all depends on how bad your bladder control problem is. I can't take long drives without breaks or I have to wear adult pull up underwear. Good luck.
