2 months agoI’ve been taking Anastrozole for about 7 months now. I have been asked if I want the Zometa infusion. I don’t want to be sick again, the side effects can be a little scary. I don’t know if I want to take this or not. My back already has degenerative disc disease (arthritis), pain is mild most days. I want to know those who have taken Zometa if your muscle aches have gotten worse? I just want to be done with this shit (medication). If you are taking this, could you please tell me what convinced you that you should get the infusions? I haven’t had any more problems after my body got use to Anastrozole except for back and leg pain.

Making decisions about additional treatments can feel overwhelming, especially when dealing with concerns about potential side effects. Many community members have shared experiences with both Anastrozole and Zometa, and their insights about managing side effects and weighing benefits might be helpful for your decision-making process. Consider discussing your specific concerns about muscle pain and your existing back condition with your medical team, as they can provide personalized guidance based on your individual health profile and treatment goals.

2 months agoI have been on anastrazole and kisqali for 3 months and just received my first infusion of zometa today. I have bavkbussues and will be having surgery for it in December. My oncologist explained that the infusions not only help with bone density but also studies show that it lessens potential for cancer to metastesize (sp?) to the spine later. Do your research and fo what's best for you. A few injections over the next 2 years was worth it for me to try it.

2 months agoI wish you the absolute best. How are you feeling with the infusion? I was told 3 years, every 6 months. I didn’t want the same sickly feeling that chemo gave me. Please reply back in a couple of days letting me know how you feel. I was told it would only help about 7%. I decided to go ahead with chemo with less of a percentage but, I wanted to give it my all. I just don’t want to be worse off for taking the infusion with everything that can happen with it.

2 months agoDeb R, not doing too bad. Day after I have fever/chills and body aches, similar to having flu. From what I understand, that should only happen the first time around. Other than that, I have done tingling in my fingers, but it is certainly manageable. I will be doing injections every 3 months for 2 years.

a month agoI’m taking Zometa…no side effects at all. I take Claritin and Pepcid a day or two before the infusion and for 3-5 days afterwards. Oncologist recommended it.

a month agoI've been on Letrozole for3.5 yrs, had 2 Zometa Infusions for osteopenia, will continue for 2 more years. The Zometa/ Reclast was manageable with Claritin. The joint pain on Letrozole has some bad days, but moving and swimming and walking helps. Hang in there!

a month agoI have been on Anastrozole for 5 years I was doing well until I recently found a lump under my armpit. I had blood work came out good but ALT was elevated. I did have a cold and took Tylenol. Ultrasound next week I wish none of us had to experience any if this. You never know if what your doing is right or wrong, better or worse. Do your research and follow your gut.

a month agoBest wishes Renee. Key is to have or find an Oncology team you can trust and have confidence in. I am incredibly fortunate....they are my quarterback in all of this......
