6 months agoJust got diagnosed with stage 0 dcis last Monday. My mom had 00 stage in 2010 had had a double mastectomy. I have to get genetic testing done to see what surgery they recommend. I’m scheduled for Surgery on August 1st at 740 in the morning. Any advice? I’m 30 years old with three young kids. Working full time doing it all by myself and I’m freaking out!:/

Receiving a DCIS diagnosis can feel overwhelming, especially while managing work and caring for young children. The genetic testing will provide valuable information to help guide the best treatment approach, and having surgery scheduled gives a clear path forward. Many community members have navigated similar situations and found ways to manage both treatment and family responsibilities - connecting with others here who understand this journey can provide practical tips and emotional support during this challenging time.

6 months agoHi Elizabeth. Sorry you are going through this especially at 30. Are you scheduled for bilateral mastectomy? Or are you considering lumpectomy if genetic testing is negative?

6 months agoIf genetic testing positive, becomes an easier decision but if your genetic testing is negative are you leaning one way?

6 months agoI had DCIS stage 0 had lumpectomy April 29 and 20 rounds of Radiation. Genetic testing was negative. Refused The devil pill ( Tamoxofin) and will have double mammogram in December -if anything is found then a double mastectomy.
