I’ve been done with treatment for 2 1/2 years and I still am constantly scared and anxious. When does that go away?

Fear and anxiety following cancer treatment is incredibly common and can persist for years, as the experience of cancer often changes how we view our health and future. Many survivors find that talking with others who understand this journey, whether through support groups or counseling, can help provide coping strategies and reassurance that these feelings are a normal part of the healing process.

I’m anxious at all times. I finished active treatment in July and I’m in endocrine therapy now. If anything looks off on my blood counts, I go into a state of panic. I’m constantly worried about reoccurrence and how it will affect my family. It’s no way to life. I get one scan done, an ultrasound, everything looks good and then a day later something else triggers me. I hear you.

whoa! i thought i was in the ditch, with all constant shaking. And falling. They stopped my chemo until they find out what this nerve problem is that I can’t walk steady or am using a cane and a wheelchair occasionally, I just don’t want it tget worse. Bless you and I will pray you’ll get better also. 👍🏽. barbi
