23 days agoI have been taking Letrozole now for alittle over a year.. I keep thinking 4 more years to go! With the body aches, balance, dizziness and other symptoms I am thinking about going off of it..I am afraid to start another drug with new side effects…I feel like my old self when I take a week off of it for family visits or such. I want to get back into the dating world in a few months if my mindset is up for that? Any thoughts or advice or anyone feeling the same way?

23 days agoThese treatment decisions are deeply personal and deserve careful consideration with your healthcare team. The side effects you're experiencing sound challenging, and it's completely understandable to weigh quality of life concerns, especially when thinking about returning to dating and social activities. Many people in this community face similar dilemmas about balancing treatment benefits with side effects - you're definitely not alone in these feelings, and your doctor can help explore all your options to find what works best for your specific situation.

22 days agoSame situation. And I am thinking along the same lines as you. The insomnia is the worst. You should see my bottles of sleep aids. I worry my brain is not functioning clearly which isn’t good for work. Follow up appt. next week and another 3 weeks later. This will be the top of my discussion.

19 days agoHello Rebecca I’m on Anastrozole been taking it now for 2 months, I am currently recovering from a full hysterectomy as another preventative I’m 43 years old and last April was diagnosed with DCIS in situ contained in my milk duct I decided to do least invasive and underwent a lumpectomy followed by 20 rounds of radiation and now on the dreaded 5 year pill I am now in menopause since my hysterectomy and since my cancer is hormone based I can’t take anything for the side effects so I’m doing my best trying to make better lifestyle choices but I’m experiencing hot flashes and night sweats now along with bone and joint pain I wanted to opt out on the 5 year pill I thought if I caught it early had it removed, had radiation with clear margins and a full hysterectomy then why do I have to take a pill that will make my life horrible? But I guess even though I went through all of that hormones stay in your cells throughout your whole body! I’m going to talk to my doctor about another option because these side effects are not fun! I can relate so my advice is advocate for yourself ask your doctor questions or alternatives you’ve come so far on it id hate for it to come back..Hope my sharing my journey can help you in some way God Bless and take care 🫶

17 days agoI’m 66 years old. I had uterine cancer in 2021. Post menopausal and had a complete radical hysterectomy. I did no more than blood tests and beat it. However last summer I got really sick and had a 2 inch blockage in my small intestine. Had a PET scan, came back clean, no cancer. Had surgery to remove the blockage, biopsy came back as metastatic lobular breast cancer. As soon as my husband and I heard that we started digging into everything we could find about this. Started taking all the vitamins and supplements that help fight and/or prevent cancer. I started on Letrozole and Kisqali. I use a vibration machine every day and we try to stay active. We also changed eating habits. Eat more of what helps block/ kill or whatever on cancer. Lots of baby spring green salads, chicken, turkey not much red meat. Mushrooms, berries…there is a list. I’ve read and heard that only 10% of cancer is hereditary the rest is our bodies telling us something went wrong! I currently have none of the side effects that are common or serious. Crossing my fingers it stays that way.
