4 months agoI am waiting on a second opinion from Moffitt Cancer Center. I have DCIS, have had 2 lumpectomy’s and still no clear margins My surgeon wanted to do a third , but I lost my confidence in her so opted for a second opinion Waiting on their analysis of my labs and tests. Visited my radiologist and got a DCISion RT score of 1.5 which means very low chance of cancer returning with clear margins obtained. Which means I may need one more lumpectomy. Possibly no radiation. It’s been a long road

The timing for achieving clear margins can vary significantly from person to person, and it sounds like this journey has been particularly challenging. Having a low DCISion RT score is encouraging information to have as part of the overall treatment planning process. Seeking a second opinion shows great self-advocacy, and many patients find it helpful to have additional expert perspectives when facing complex decisions about their care.

4 months agoI recently had a lumpectomy and they found the cancer went to my lymph node one of them so because of that they're doing 16 treatments of radiation
