9 months agoI’m not accusing just asking if anyone has been using Lume deodorant and developed breast cancer?? I have been using it for about a year and a few months ago I started putting it under my breast due to sweating. Well, I was diagnosed with breast cancer right in the area I was using it on. Just curious if anyone was experiencing the same thing. Once again, I’m not accusing just askin!!

It's completely understandable to wonder about potential connections when dealing with a cancer diagnosis. While there's no established scientific evidence linking Lume deodorant to breast cancer development, these concerns are natural when facing such a serious health situation. Many community members have shared similar questions about various products, and discussing these worries with your oncology team can provide personalized guidance based on your specific situation and medical history.

7 months agoThat’s interesting. I recently switched to Lume after my diagnosis. Because it’s aluminum free. I will find another deodorant just to be on the safe side.

7 months agoThere are several natural brands and aluminum free, however be aware that just because they are natural or aluminum free they may not be kind to your fragile underarm skin.. Dove has aluminum free, there is one that kinda goes on silky. If you don't want to use much, you can wipe your underarms with very diluted white vinegar and water or witch hazel. Some folks find deodorant every other day is fine.

7 months agoIt’s just odd because I had just started using it under the breast because the product says you can use it everywhere and where my cancer was, was the under part of the breast🤷♀️

7 months agoI use Lume in the same manner, but my cancer was not near that location. My doctors were in favor of my choice of deodorant, I will not be switching. Best to you!!

7 months agoI switched to aluminum free deodorant after finding my lump in December 2024. I learned the hard way to avoid any natural deodorant that contains baking soda because it was very irritating! I found a good one at Whole Foods called Hume Supernatural. So far so good.

7 months ago@Theresa: I became very tired, especially during the last two weeks of radiation therapy and after. I was told to expect this as radiation also kills the good cells and the body doesn’t have the energy from loss of these cells and need energy to make up for loss.

7 months agoI know it’s natural to want to find something to blame when bad things happen. Sometimes, things just “are”. I can guarantee you that for me, I can think of plenty of bad choice throughput my life that MAY have contributed to my cancer, but maybe it was just my lot in life. I think doing what makes you feel safer is the right choice for every person on this journey. 😊

7 months agoI had exactly the same as you except tumor was slightly larger. I had a lumpectomy, no lymph node involvement, had radiation without complications and I am now on Letrozole Chemo pills. I have various side effects from the pills - with varying severity depending on “I don’t know what”. I have menopausal symptoms, hot flashes etc. I have muscle and joint pain - severe at times - like arthritis it is affected by weather but also severe when the weather is clear - it’s a mystery. In general I believe I am doing okay for my circumstances. Having faith, family and friends are the best daily medicines for me. Prayers for you as you move through the decisions and treatments that lie ahead. 👍🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️

7 months agoTheresa after my first cancer diagnosis I had a lumpectomy, radiation and letrozole. I was taken off of letrozole after about 3 yrs as it was making my liver spike and not in a good way. After 5 yrs I was given the all clear. I have continued with mammograms every yr then they increased them to 2 x a yr with ultrasounds also and now I am stage 4 metastatic breast cancer, so I guess you never know. It was a fluke how I found out and was diagnosed.

7 months agoHello ladies I am just starting my journey. On May 23rd I’m having a mastectomy of my left breast and don’t know if I will be needing radiation and chemotherapy afterwards. My doctor is telling me that it will be another two months before I will know. I don’t know what worse the surgery or not knowing the final outcome. Any suggestions on how I am going to feel after surgery. I’m a bit freaked out.
