Well, yesterday was the biopsy that went well. It was a bit painful after the lidocaine wore off, but it was managable. Today I my breast looks as if it has gotten larger overnight. Is this part of the biopsy aftermath?

Swelling after a biopsy is quite common and typically occurs as part of the body's natural healing response to the procedure. Many patients experience temporary swelling, bruising, or changes in breast appearance following a biopsy, though it's always wise to contact your healthcare team if you have concerns about any post-procedure symptoms. Hoping your recovery continues to go smoothly - feel free to share how you're doing or ask any other questions that come up.

Hi, Angie, it may look larger due to swelling or bruising from the biopsy.

As the swelling is coming down , my husband notices the mass is more noticeable. So some of it was due to the procedure.

Yes, my mass also felt larger for a few weeks, it is also due to the swelling or bruising from the biopsy.

Using ice will help with both pain and swelling. Make sure to protect your skin with a thin layer, like a dish towel.

I didn't notice any swelling but I did have pain. I had to have two areas biopsies. I went from cold to warm compresses. The cold helped the most, and yes use a protective layering. I used a light towel, cotton is Terry cloth.

The ice has been a Goddess sent miracle. I always wear a cotton cami because I can't wear a bra. I have found the cami holds me "steady" as I work. Keeps my work shirt from rubbing my nopple that are super tender.
