17 days agoI was diagnosed March 30,2026 it seems so unreal. I have no Idea what I’m doing here but I do know my diet has to change. I’ve had surgery already just waiting to get these staples out & move on to the next phase. How are you guys holding up?

17 days agoThe shock and uncertainty after a cancer diagnosis can feel overwhelming, and it's completely natural to feel like everything is surreal right now. Many people in this community have found that focusing on one step at a time - like waiting for staple removal and preparing for the next phase of treatment - helps make the journey feel more manageable. Taking control of what you can, like exploring dietary changes that work for your situation, often provides a sense of empowerment during this challenging time.

3 days agoJarrade, I wish the best for you. My biggest change in diet with colon cancer is the inability to digest raw veggies. I've had chicken rice and potatoes for dinner often. Oatmeal is binding and helps provide good nutrients. Bananas are easy to digest, as well as applesauce. Eggs are a great source of protein. At the beginning of chemotherapy. I lost a lot of weight because I had diarrhea as my major side effect. After 12 treatments, I have gained the weight back (unfortunately). But my last infusion was today, so I am hopeful that exercising will tone me up. Don't get discouraged! Believe that you are stronger than cancer. There's a lot to look forward to in life.
