I have created and had my first fusion. How do you deal with not drinking cold drinks.

Adjusting to dietary changes after spinal fusion can be challenging, and many community members find creative ways to make the transition easier. Some have shared success with gradually warming up to room temperature drinks, trying herbal teas, or finding other refreshing alternatives that work within their recovery guidelines - perhaps others here have discovered helpful strategies they'd be willing to share.

I'm assuming you meant Infusion. Not drinking cold drinks wasn’t a problem for me since I don’t really like COLD drinks anyway and I went through my chemo treatment in the winter. You can try holding ice chips in your mouth during treatment and it helps. The cold sensitivity mostly went away in my mouth but, by the end of my treatment regimen, I had severe neuropathy in my feet. That was even worse. Good luck.

You get used to it. Dont recommend ice chips if you are doing FOLFOX. I couldnt even touch cold things with my hands of feet. Heads up…air condition in the car made my face go numb. I had to ride in the back and block the air. I even brushed my teeth with room temp water. Keep a bottle by the sink for that and washing them. Just some adjustments but stay strong! You can survive a little room temp drink! Good luck! Isaiah 43!
