11 days agoHi, I’m new here. I had my gallbladder removed 4/14/26. It was cancerous. Because of my low platelets count I am not a candidate for chemotherapy. I have started radiation treatments.
What helps with chemo nausea and pain besides prescription meds?

6 months ago54 F. I was told I had cancer the week of Thanksgiving 2025 was also told it was fully resectable planning on having my gallbladder out and part of the liver and was scheduled for surgery January 19. Iwhen they went in on the 19th they had said it spread to both sides of my liver and my diaphragm and I was no longer able for surgery and chemotherapy has been started Jan 27th. I’m on my free week of my first round. While the first two weeks of chemo have gone good I’ve had many other obstacles jump in the way such as jaundice and had to have a stent. Blood clot, and then a port placement. So have not felt good. I’m having problems with nausea and pain and trying to figure out something different just to feel human throughout the days. has anyone had good feedback on those two items outside of just having to take oxycodone and nausea medicine. I don’t smoke and don’t want to but am open to gummies or drops or pills. Also was going to ask about patches. I want to go back to work next week and need to feel my best.. thank you all in advance and I hope your journey is going well.
Has anyone had chemo make surgery possible after being too risky?

14 days agoHi. My husband was diagnosed October 2025. He is starting chemo this week. They wanted to do surgery but after his fibroscan the doctors decided surgery was too risky. They will rescan after three treatments to see if they can do surgery. Has anyone had luck with chemo improving things enough for surgery?

"What are the next steps after chemo and immunotherapy for Stage 3B cancer?"
Community Member
4 months agoJust joining the group. Finishing up chemo included in blind immunotherapy trial. It is unclear if it is working so looking forward to next steps. Stage 3B. Looks like it has invaded my liver. I have already had a liver resection.
