How to get rid of metallic taste during chemo treatments?

POSSIBLE RELIEF FROM METALLIC TASTE Hi all, I wanted to leave a suggestion here for anyone going through treatments and dealing with the horrible metallic taste. I suffered from it during my chemo treatments and my Oncologist had me start taking 10mg of Zinc a day. She said the treatment depletes zinc stores and your taste buds need zinc or something to that effect. Well after about a week or so I noticed a MARKED difference in taste! Don't get me wrong food still tasted pretty bad for me and I struggled with eating but the metallic taste being gone offered at least some much appreciated relief! It apparently does not work for everyone and absolutely 100% check with your doctor before starting to take Zinc but it might be worth a try!

How do others manage Verzenio side effects like stomach issues?

I have been on Anastrozole and verzenio for several months now. The verzenio is extremely hard to predict. Sometimes it’s diahreah and then constipation. Upset stomach constantly and indigestion. I am really tired of this roller coaster ride and am about to talk to the oncologist about it all. Is there anyone out there on verzenio and what has been your experience. I take 100mg of verzenio twice a day. Appreciate your feedback.

How effective is hyperbaric oxygen therapy for radiation side effects?

I just finished Hyperbaric Oxygen treatments for some radiation burning and excess tissue growing (I'm high risk for radiation). This treatment is amazing. It also help with my neuropathy and some other problems I had been having. If you have damaged skin or radiation problems. See if you can try this treatment. It is a commitment. I went 5 days a week for 40 treatments. There are a few side effects from the oxygen, but they clear up without any more medications. I cannot recommend this treatment enough. I was in a wheelchair three years ago (not from the cancer), I can now walk alone or with a cane. It has helped my legs so much. It's an amazing treatment.

Does breast pain after radiation get better with time?

Breast pain 6 mo post radiation. Does it get better? Or worse? I massage regularly and my skin feels normal, but wearing a bra all day causes pain.

What can help with vaginal irritation while taking Anastrozole?

I have been on Anastrazole for 1 year for my ER/PR breast cancer and have been having issues with vaginal irritation / itching. I do use Halogyn suppository gel three times a week per my gynecologist for moisture but it doesn't seem to help much. It's been pretty bad for a couple of weeks so I've tried monistat and some cream that you get at the pharmacy with no benefit and now my gynecologist has left the practice and I can't get in to see another one till August. Has anyone had this type of situation and has there been anything that you've used to help? Thank you

How to relieve nighttime leg cramps from tamoxifen?

Been on tamoxifen for a year now. Some side effects I’ve been tolerating but now pretty bad leg cramps last month. Any thing to make it better? Worse at night.

What should I expect taking tamoxifen after bilateral mastectomy for DCIS and stage 1 cancer?

I am four weeks post bilateral mastectomy. Stage 0 DCIS in right breast and Stage 1 invasive ductal carcinoma in left breast. Sentinal Node biopsy came back benign. My breast surgeon and oncologist suggested taking tamoxifen. Any one here who can provide support and advice?

Has anyone tried Arimidex? Worried about side effects starting soon

Any familiar with Arimidex aka anastrozole? I'm not sure if they are really giving me the name brand Arimidex or just saying that instead of Anastrozole but either way the side effects aren't looking so good? They want to start me in 2 weeks and are giving me a break after finishing radiation. They wanted me to take Arimidex and Verzenio at the same time and said then how will I know which one is causing which side effect? I said I'll try Arimidex first only. It seems like all these aromatase inhibitors are hit or miss with side effects!
