a year agoRecently had lumpectomy for dcis grade 1. 1st oncologist Recommended tamoxifen as the norm. Waiting to see radiation oncologist next week. With such a low percentage of tamoxifen making a difference I'm really unsure about taking it due to the side effects. Anyone have feedback?

This is such a personal decision that many people face after DCIS treatment, and it's completely understandable to weigh the potential benefits against possible side effects. Discussing your specific situation with both your radiation oncologist and medical team can help you make the choice that feels right for your unique circumstances. Many community members have shared their experiences with similar treatment decisions, so you're definitely not alone in thinking through these important considerations.
