7 days agoHi all, I’m in my mid-forties and had a surgery on 6/4 to remove the enlarged mass on my left ovary (also had full hysterectomy). I was diagnosed with Stage 1c1 ovarian cancer (clear cell carcinoma). I had my first chemo treatment with a combo chemo drugs (Paclitaxel & Carboplatin) on 7/24 (total of 6 cycles, once every three weeks). I had reactions (dizziness, shortness of breath, and back spasms) nine minutes after the first drug (Paclitaxel) was administered. The nurses quickly came to treat the reactions. I had no reactions to the second drug (Carboplatin). 🙏
After the first chemo cycle, I woke up with body aches, loss of taste buds, and fatigue (as expected). I was able to manage the nausea with the prescribed meds. Tomorrow is my first week after the first chemo cycle. So far, I don’t have any more body aches and my taste buds came back! I do now have tingling on my toes and fingers (also as expected), but they are tolerable. For the Stage 1c1 folks with the same treatment, let me know if you have the same side effects as mine. We can do this!!! 😁
