What to expect from ovarian cancer surgery after chemotherapy?

I haven’t seen a good Dr yet. I was first told I did not have cancer just a real bad infection. I learned after being in a hospital for 5 days and out for 7 days that they were wrong and think I have a 3 grade ovarian tumor.

I was diagnosed with 4th stage ovarian cancer (metasticized to my lungs and liver) in January and began treatment at the end of January. The plan was 3 chemo treatments, hysterectomy, and 3 more chemo treatments. After the 3rd chemo they found a blood clot near my kidneys and postponed the surgery, placed me on blood thinners and did the surgery after the 6th chemo treatment. ( like you). The pathology report showed no active/detectable cancer after the surgery, but due to stage 4 status, it was advised that I do 3 more chemo treatments and then 15 months on maintenance drug (arvastin - probably spelled wrong). I'm happy to be cancer free but not happy to be continuing chemotherapy. Praying for you!
