What are other AML survivors doing to stay in remission?

I’m in remission from AML, just wondering what others are doing for it. Doing chemo once a month to keep it from coming back. 2 days a month 1 pill a day, Inqovi. Taking lots of antibiotics also.

What should I expect during my stem cell transplant and hospital stay?

I’m going in for a stem cell transplant on Monday after 5 days of more chemo. What can I expect? My doctor says I’ll be in the hospital for four weeks and the hotel on the hospital campus for two more weeks.

Do cancer patients with ports find them helpful despite the scary procedure?

I have CMML and started chemo. I had 2 have 2 transfusions bc platelets dropped to 10😳. After 2 transfusions, they’re at 32. They had problems finding my veins and my dr suggested a port. It sounds very frightening. Does anyone else have a port? Was it painful to put in? Does it help?

Does chemo cause brain fog during treatment cycles?

Hi. Just wondering if anyone here has experienced brain fog during chemo? I’m experiencing it now. This is my 3rd cycle of treatment and I’ve never experienced it before.

Is anyone dealing with severe joint and nerve pain after APL chemo?

48 male APL survivor. Anyone left with severe joint and nerve pain after your 8 month chemo maintenance? I got it pretty bad and can’t work anymore. Can’t do much of anything anymore without stopping to rest to relieve pressure on my joints. Then while I’m resting the nerve pain shoots through my body at any random place.

Is my CLL doctor being too dismissive about monitoring after diagnosis?

I was diagnosed with cll this past May. I’m 53 years old. The hematologist I saw acted like it was no big deal. Told me I probably wouldn’t need treatment for 15 years. He done a ct scan and some blood work and a bone marrow biopsy. He told me I had some questionable lymph nodes but after all that he told me he didn’t need to see me anymore for a year and that he didn’t need anymore blood work till then. It worries me how dismissive he was. I’ve read most people get blood work done every 3 months after diagnosis. Has this happened to anyone else?? Maybe I should look for another doctor and get a second opinion??

How are others coping 120 days after CMML bone marrow cancer treatment?

Hello my Mike I got diagnosed in July off last your with CMML it a rare bone marrow cancer I'm now 120day out off the hospital luckily I had a great team off off doctors to help out and before that I was in the hospital for pneumonia and collapsed left lung doctor said if I didn't come in then I would be dead I had 240oz off fluid in my lung had surgery but now I'm doing ok but still struggling
