How can I trust remission if there was no surgery or treatment?

I had a tumor for year the hepatologist says i'm in remission after my last abdominal MRI..I 'VE HAD cancer three different times.So i'm wary because I didn't see the images..I'm worried because there was no surgery or laser ablation.It's just hard to be trustworthy or feel completely positive..just so exhausted

How do I cope with cancer progression after so much treatment?

Colon cancer in 2013 , hemicolectomy and in remission until 2024 when liver metastasis found . 6 months of chemo , liver resection and ablation , insertion hai pump. Had 3 rounds of chemo in pump then stopped due to elevated liver enzymes. Have had multiple rounds of different chemo for liver , lung and brain mets since then . Last cycles were carboplatin, etoposide and immunotherapy. Despite all this I have disease progression in liver , lung and biliary stones with stenosis and am jaundice . Had ERCP and liver function still elevated . Supposed to start different immunotherapy in 2 weeks . Down and depressed.

How do I cope with metastatic cancer after initial remission?

Hello, started with squamous cell cancer of throat 1 yr ago . After 34 radiation and 5 chemo using carbospatin, Taxol and 5 fu pills 1’week on 1 week off it was cure ! 3 months later a pet scan showed Mets to liver and bone ! Now doing katura, Carbo and 5fu Anyone with similar situation? Ty. Ed

What is life expectancy after HCC diagnosis with and without treatment?

I was diagnosed with HCC one month ago and was given 4 to 6 months without treatment or 1 to 3 years to live with treatment which was supposed be Immunotherapy since then my treatment has been changed to tablets this is due to blood clotting and my heart condition. I never started my immunotherapy and due to start my tablets this week. I have felt fine up to very recently and used to walk 10-12k steps per day but now I can only manage 2-3k steps without resting, my legs are a little swollen but not too bad, is this lack in energy normal for my stage of liver cancer?

My name is Stephan and I am a cancer patient with Hepatocelluar Carcinoma. I was diagnosed in December of 2023 after having had a heart attack. Went thru a liver resection and an ablation think this would take care of it only to be told months later that the cancer has reappeared in my lungs and spine. I was doing an immunotherapy which has been stopped because it was too much for my liver. Now I am awaiting the DanaFarber people to come e ip with a new treatment plan, but it has been 7 months since my last treatment and I am getting very afraid that we are waiting to long. Will more chemo cycles before surgery help prevent my bile duct cancer from spreading?

I was diagnosed with intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma on January 22, 2026. I started cisplatin/durvalumab/gem on February 5, 2026. I had a setback due to sepsis/septic shock then started back on treatment March 5, 2026. I will be stating my 3rd cycle Day 1 on March 31st. Liver specialist, Dr. Shah stated that she could do removal of left lobe (it's just dead) and resection as long as there are no shocks or surprises. But, she wanted me to complete at least 4-5 cycles. I just don't want this to spread. Since recovering, my schedule changed to once every three weeks.

How can I afford expensive cancer medication when insurance doesn't cover it?

My oncologist stopped my immunotherapy infusion and started me on cabozantinib tablet; however, the cost of the drug is extremely expensive. A month’s supply will cost around 24K - 26K, which I have applied for financial assistance, but until now, I haven’t heard if it was approved or not.

I'm currently on several medications for my heart and breathing - Lisinopril and Cardizem (diltiazem) for blood pressure and heart support, plus spironolactone and bumetanide to help with fluid management. I also take Symbicort (budesonide plus formoterol), montelukast, and Flonase Allergy Relief (fluticasone) for asthma and allergies during my treatment. I've been experiencing severe leg swelling, a 20-pound weight gain, and difficulty bending my legs, which I plan to discuss with my oncology team.
