TIL therapy has shown promising results for melanoma patients in clinical trials. It's great to see community members exploring advanced treatment options and connecting with others who may have similar experiences. Hopefully, some members can share their insights about this innovative immunotherapy approach.

Anyone? I'd love for others to share experiences on this incredible type of immunotherapy. The way I understand this type is it takes your immune cells out, trains them to be elite soldiers, then sends them back in to fight the cancer! Hope things are going great for you Mis. If you feel up to it please share what the therapy is like for you. Thanks for being here. 💛 Suzanne (Community Moderator)

I’m curious also. I’m 5 years since my initial stage 4 diagnosis. I first received immunotherapy which at year 2 was ineffective. Braf gene detection and now receiving Braftovi and Mektovi which has kept my cancer small less than 4 cm. The plan is TIL once my tumors are 4 cm and greater. Has to be big enough to harvest the cells. I heard very difficult but better long term survival. So I’m in when tumors big enough

Yes had TIL therapy done had a tumor removed from my leg early October 2025. They sent that to a lab to separate the Tcells from the cancer cells than they multiply them into the Billions. That takes about a month went into the hospital on November 9 treatment started on November 10. That first week they give you chemo to knock out your immune system thats so when they put your Tcells back in your system they have space to grow. On November 18 the second week you go into the ICU unit so you can be monitored 24/7 for any severe side affects while they introduce the new Tcells and give you interleukin-2. It took about two hours for the Tcells to be put back in then every 12 hours you get an infusion of the Interleukin-2 had three infusions of that. After each one had a side affect of severe body shakes. Was transfered out of the ICU back up to my room on November 21 didn't have any severe side affects after that. Was discharged on November 24 went for my first scan at the end of December showed some progress some spots on my lungs and liver were smaller from previous scan but a few others showed up. Next scans are end of February hoping to see more spots getting smaller.
