What is fetal hemoglobin in PMF patients taking Droxia?

a month agoHi I have been diagnosed with PMF for 7 years JAK2, ASXL1, TET2, IDH2, 79yrs old, living near SF, taking Droxia. Anyone know about fetal hemoglobin?

a month agoFetal hemoglobin (HbF) is a type of hemoglobin that's naturally higher in babies but usually decreases as we grow into adults. In PMF patients taking Droxia (hydroxyurea), elevated fetal hemoglobin levels can actually be a positive sign that the medication is working effectively to help manage the condition. Many others in this community have experience with Droxia and monitoring these lab values, so hopefully some members can share their insights about what to expect with fetal hemoglobin changes during treatment.
