How rare is thymic carcinoma? Looking for others with this diagnosis

Thymic carcinoma is indeed quite rare, affecting only about 1 in 1.5 million people each year, which can make connecting with others who share this diagnosis feel challenging. This community exists specifically to bring together people facing thymomas and thymic carcinomas, so even though the numbers may seem small, each member here understands the unique aspects of this rare cancer journey and can offer valuable support and insights.

I was diagnosed 5 years ago. The cancer metastasized to my left side, causing nerve damage. One round of chemo made me deathly ill. I am living with Stage 4 thymic carcinoma, on no treatment at present. I am monitored every 3-4 months at MD Anderson Camcer Center.
