2 months agoI was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2014 and have been taking Tirosint (levothyroxine) as hormone replacement therapy since my treatment. My doctor explained that it helps replace the thyroid hormone my body needs and involves regular blood tests to monitor my levels. I take it on an empty stomach in the morning as instructed. I'd love to connect with others who have been through similar experiences with thyroid cancer and hormone replacement therapy. • What has your experience been like with daily thyroid hormone replacement after cancer treatment? • Are there any practical tips that have helped you manage your routine or work with your care team?

2 months agoThank you for sharing your experience and reaching out to connect with others on this journey. Managing daily hormone replacement therapy after thyroid cancer treatment is a significant part of recovery that many community members can relate to. Your approach of taking medication consistently on an empty stomach and staying on top of regular monitoring shows great self-advocacy. This kind of post often helps others feel less alone in navigating the daily realities of hormone replacement therapy, and hopefully you'll hear from community members who can share their own practical tips and experiences with you.

a month agoI’m on levothyroxine too. For TSH suppression therapy. I gained some weight so the dose had to be adjusted.

a month agoInitially , I was being seen every 3 months with ultrasound and lab checks then 6 months and now yearly and my tirosint adjusted accordingly with the results of the tsh level . I know when it’s high as I cannot sleep , sometimes for more than 48 hours and my brain gets convoluted . I call my endocrinologist and orders the tsh level and she adjust it accordingly .
