3 months agoI also have had thyroid papillary cancer for 7 1/2 years. It’s spreading very slowly but my wonderful doctor says I have more of a chance to die crossing the street than dying of this cancer!!! Yea! We watch it closely doing blood tests and ultrasound every 4-6 months. As long as I keep that up I can handle whatever comes my way. I’m very blessed. Ginger

2 months agoSo sorry to hear this, Vanessa. Mine was an aggressive angio-sarcoma inside the left lobe. The head oncologist at the University of Michigan had never heard of this type in the thyroid. I felt great after the surgery, but have had some real issues after getting soaked with chemo. Although I am grateful to be alive, it's been challenging! A prayer for your complete recovery!

16 days agoHello to all, I was diagnosed with Papillary Thyroid cancer on Nov 13th 2025 and am scheduled for Surgery Dec 16th. 2025. It's surreal and scary. I am a singer and to learn I may not sing again is like a bullet to the head. I'm trying to keep positive that I have a better outcome and will just need to work harder to get my voice back but it is now just hitting me how my life is about to change.

16 days agoJose, are you going to an experienced endocrine surgeon? Is your cancer wrapped around vocal cords? There is always a small chance of damage, but with an experienced high volume surgeon in thyroidectomies complications tend to be more minimal. My voice was back to normal in few days.

16 days agoYes my surgeon is fully aware but did advise of the risks of damaging vocal cords. It all depends on how bad it is when he goes in. It has spread under my clavicle and on to my jugulars artery so it will be a long surgery as per the doctors advisement.
