Hi everyone I’m Steve from Massachusetts. I found out I have thyroid cancer almost two years ago. 1st surgery was canceled because of anaphylactic shock. 2nd surgery was successful. Total thyroidectomy. Had RAI during the summer of 2024. I’m on TSH suppression with levothyroxine, but I have rising tg levels. Recently discovered there are multiple small nodules in my lungs. Too small to biopsy, but I’m now seeing an oncologist and she is confident the cancer metastasized.

Hi Stephan, did you do Thyroglobulin and ultra sound after your surgery?

Yes Ahmad, ultrasound was clean. My surgeon did a wonderful job. Unfortunately it was a 7 cm mass with extra thyroidal extension into the lymph nodes and strap muscles. Tall cell variant. I’m on TSH suppression with a daily dose of levothyroxine and more CT imaging in six months. My oncologist is conducting genetic testing for possible targeted therapy.
