What to expect with liver metastasis treatment at UTSW Medical?

I was diagnosed with Uveal Melanoma in March 22. I was diagnosed with liver Metastasis after routine scans in March 2025 and treated the 2 tumors with Cryoablation or freezing the tumors. Stable till this February and now have 6 tumors throughout liver. I will be having treatment at UTSW Medical on Thursday the 16

Has anyone tried TIL therapy for uveal melanoma lung metastasis?

I have Uveal Melanoma it has been very slow growing but it metastasized to my lungs, which I understand is even more rare. Around 2004 or 5 I had a freckle found behind my left eye and I was sent to the Midwest Eye Institute in Indianapolis, Indiana. I was checked every 3 months then 6 then annually and really didn't worry about it at all. I was told there was 1 in 10,000 chances it would ever change into a tumor. I made a very big mistake and stopped going for my check ups, in 2013 I was having vision problems and found that I had a very large tumor behind my left eye. I had the plaque radiation, it was painful and I lost the vision in my eye but it was successful, and the tumor is still gone. I religiously kept every appointment for my lung and liver checks, they spotted lung nodules early during my first diaognosis back in 2013. In 2021 they found that one of the lung nodules had grown some, so a biopsy confirmed it was also melanoma. I had 1/2 of my right middle lobe removed but unfortunately they found cancer cells were left. With Pet Scans every 3 months late 2024 some nodules had grown slightly I started immunotherapy (Veroy and Opdivo for 4 treatments and then just Opdivo now. My last scan has shown more growth and lit up more so I have been discussing with the Cleveland Clinic a clinical trial called TIL (tumor Infiltration Lymphocyte therapy). I am nervous about the process, especially the thoought of high doses of chemotherapy for a week. Has anyone else heard of this or have had this therapy?

Has anyone had success treating uveal melanoma with aggressive genes?

My brother is the one with uveal melanoma with the aggressive genes has anybody had success with a treatment with the aggressive genes? Right now he goes to Philly for the chemo to shrink the tumors by cutting off their blood supply This is his second line. He did the combo immunotherapy as its first

Having OM in my eye - how do others cope with monitoring anxiety?

Hello. I was diagnosed with OM in in my left eye in early 2023 and had the plaque radiation immediately. I had the biopsy which revealed my tumor was a class 2. I have a 50/50 chance of it NOT spreading…thinking positive here. My doctors are at Mayo in Jacksonville FL. My tumor is dead thankfully. I have some vision in that eye. I have monitoring every 3 months by my oncologist. A CT abdomen, chest xray and complete bloodwork. So far so good. My next round of testing is 2/16.

How do you manage fatigue and symptoms with uveal melanoma?

I have uveal melanoma and am currently managing symptoms with several over-the-counter medications including multivitamins (Centrum and Ocuvite Adult 50+), Goody's Extra Strength Headache Powder for pain, ZzzQuil for sleep, Systane eye drops, vitamin B12, and Zyrtec (cetirizine) for allergies. I've been experiencing severe fatigue and headaches lately. My care team knows about these symptoms and is helping me assess them. I'm learning that some of these medications can interact with each other and may affect things like dizziness or sleep patterns. I'd love to connect with others who have uveal melanoma about managing day-to-day symptoms and supportive care. • How did you handle fatigue and other symptoms during your treatment? • What over-the-counter supportive care approaches worked best for you?

My Battle with Ocular Melanoma: A Survivor's Story

I've been battling ocular melanoma in my left eye since around Thanksgiving 2024. Thought I had a cataract, it started as a little white cloud that got bigger by the end of January 2025. I ended up in Memphis Tn. Hamilton Eye Institute, Dr. Ben King Vitreoretinal Diseases , Ocular Oncology . Had radiation plaque implant therapy surgery April 22 , surgery to take if off April 29th... I lost all my vision from the amount of radiation, but I had lost almost 80% before surgery.. I'm almost 3 months out in my 5 yr recovery, and it has been hell... PERIOD The surgery and the healing of my eye has been extremely painful and hard learning a life with one eye, and I'm 68. But the brain starts figuring it all out, but it's not easy, but life goes on .. Had my PET scan last week, the radiation therapy implant did its job 💪 I'm cancer free !! Now PET scans and eye checkups in Memphis Dr. King every 6 months for life ... Never wd I believe that this disease wd have taken my eye sight as fast as it did , but I'm alive, and let's hope it doesn't come back in my life . Maybe in time, I will get some vision back 🤞 I am one that believes in miracles !!!! I told my doctor's I really didn't have time to die rt now 🤣
