Receiving an AML diagnosis can feel overwhelming, and it's completely understandable to experience shock with such life-changing news. Finding strength through faith during difficult times can provide comfort and peace for many people facing serious health challenges. The cancer community here understands the weight of these moments and the importance of having support during this journey. Consider connecting with others in this community who may share similar experiences and perspectives.

I too have AML and have chosen supportive care rather than chemo. Factors of being 84 year old male and with MDS that evolved to AML. Family support is terrific but, they are also dealing with an 85 year old mother who requires around the clock care. My oncologist has not predicted a timetable for me. I think he’s optimistic about that as he rearranged my transfusion schedule to have one the day before my friends take me on a swan song golf outing at the end of the month. I’m quite comfortable with my decision and look forward daily to what I am to be presented with in these final days. I will think about you and your journey.
