3 months agoI have been diagnosed with stage 4 anal cancer with tumors in lungs and liver. Have started chemo and have to wait for surgery. I am also following someone who had colon cancer (not the same as anal) and beat it by diet. Reading all the plant food he ate and supplements he still takes today. Am also looking into red light therapy and hyperbaric chamber. I am also waiting on a promising clinical trial. I have to have the right markers and go thru the regular chemo first. When first diagnosed you are faced with a ton of information. You can’t panic but you can beat it!

It's encouraging to see such a proactive approach to exploring multiple treatment pathways while working closely with your medical team. The combination of staying informed, considering clinical trials, and maintaining a positive mindset can be powerful tools in your cancer journey. Many patients find strength in researching complementary approaches alongside their standard treatment, and connecting with others who have faced similar challenges can provide valuable support and hope.

3 months agoHi Diane. I too was diagnosed with stage 4 anal cancer w/meta to liver and one nodule in lung (that one nodule no longer visible on scan). Just finished 8 rounds of chemo. Start Keytruda on Tuesday and having an MRI on Saturday. Then hopefully see the interventional radiologist for liver mapping in order to have CY90 ablation of the liver. It’s challenging but you have to stay positive.

3 months agoI was diagnosed with stage one anal cancer, and I asked my radiologist what is the best thing I can do for myself to get through this treatment of six weeks of chemo and six weeks of radiation! She told me to stay positive eat lots of protein and prayers !! I learned so much about food how important it is to heal your body! Staying Positive is SO important!! I am cancer free two years now, and my diet consists of only organic !! It’s so important let me say that again it’s so important to eat right even when you don’t feel hungry, snack on something healthy stay away from sugar because the sugar feed your cancer is what I’m told now I did stay away from sugar and still do!! My radiation treatment burned me so bad inside and outside that I was hospitalized for 10 days for the pain!!! I stayed positive!! Never did I lose hope!!! I’m still learning how to control my bowels!! The tumor and Radiation has left my anal num, to ware I can’t feel the poop as it comes out, sadly I am still waring protection, that has kept me from going to anyone home, because I’m too embarrassed!! That’s me no one else I’m sharing because maybe this won’t happen to you, but you have to advocate and fight for what you need to live this life after cancer!! I’m turning 70 in a few months!!! I’m feeling Good, for how much I have fought, and learned to live a better life God has Blessed me with so much!! I always remember these 3 words!!! Positive, protein, prayers!! You may say them in any way you like, but it’s Truly what has kept me going!! God Bless you on your journey 🙏🙏🙏 You Got this!!! Research!!!! Also, what helped me finding other people that shared anal cancer journeys, not colon cancer!! 🙏🙏🙏 Best wishes for a successful recovery 🙏🙏🙏 🦋🦋🦋
